What to Expect
Tesla Finance Team’s mission is to improve the company operationally and financially by working cross functionally to control costs and improve processes. The Financial Controller is an important player in the expansion of Tesla in the EMEA region. The Financial Controller will report to the team manager financial control and will provide financial analysis to management for respective countries. This person will also be the liaison between finance teams in Amsterdam and Berlin and business owners in the countries.
To be successful in this role, you need to be technically strong, have a genuine interest in data analysis and process improvement and eager to deliver the best and most efficient results. Written and spoken proficiency in German and English is required as well as experience with HGB and basic knowledge on IFRS or US GAAP.
You are innovative and can communicate complex accounting topics to all levels within the company. As for experience, you have proven accomplishments in a financial accounting or a control position in industry and/or a few years of experience as controller or accountant.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsibility for compliance with the applicable accounting regulations HGB and US-GAAP, within the DACH region, including advice on policies, processes, and accounting papers
  • Responsible for the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and other financial reports within the scope of responsibility
  • Reconciliation from US GAAP to local accounting standards and vice versa
  • Supporting initiatives to improve process and system analyses as well as efficiency and quality in transaction and financial reporting
  • Interpreting data on the company’s financial performance as part of the opportunity/risk assessment
  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of statistics as well as contact person for these authorities
  • Contact person also for other departments, auditors, other auditors (social security audit, tax audit, etc.), development and further development of solution patterns in order to deal with urgent issues quickly and efficiently and to avoid problems in the future

What You’ll Bring

  • Completed studies in business administration with a focus on finance/controlling or a comparable qualification, e.g. as an accountant or controller, you also have practical experience through relevant internships, vocational training or several years of experience in auditing/consulting
  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS and local accounting (HGB)
  • Assertive, team player with an international mentality
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English
  • Good knowledge of ERP systems (preferably MS-Dynamics AX) and MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to travel (at home and abroad)
