Description:

We are currently looking for a dynamic Financial Controller to join the newly appointed leadership team as part of our recently announced joint venture with Warburg Pincus. This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished finance leader to establish the finance function for this specialised platform focused on APAC’s growing life science sector.
Reporting to the JV CEO, you will be working closely with senior operational and financial leadership across the business and the Finance Services teams in countries including Singapore and China.
Your key responsibilities will include overseeing financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, management reports, cashflow management, managing treasury requirements and liaising with external auditors, tax advisors, financial institutions and other stakeholders. The responsibilities span across various newly formed entities. You will also ensure compliance with regulations and company policies. This role is valuable in providing the Executive Leadership team with strategic financial insight to support decision making to drive the company’s growth and profitability.
In your role, you will also be responsible for Systems change management responsible for facilitating and managing the process of implementing changes in the finance systems and applications.
You will support the business in relation to the annual strategy process, coordinate and prepare the annual business plan, manage monthly/quarterly/half-yearly/yearly and ad hoc reporting requirements. You will prepare financial forecasts, cash flow reporting and business unit reviews, as well as evaluate investment opportunities. You will also continue to drive ongoing improvement of processes and systems and ensure alignment between business requirements and delivery by Finance team. You will ensure robust financial controls are in place, as well as governance and integrity of all financial systems, processes and improvements.
Key initial deliverables will be implementation of improved cash flow reporting, forecasting and delivery across the business. You will also ensure compliance with statutory requirements are effectively managed.
As you will be managing across a variety of finance and non-finance stakeholders, excellent people skills will be of paramount importance. You must also be able to demonstrate strong experience working in an ever-changing environment and the ability to lead, motivate and drive strong team performance amongst the financial functions team. You will have strong commercial understanding with the ability to foresee key business drivers.
Your technical accounting skills will include strong project revenue experience and cost management, as well as solid understanding of tax legislation and financial/accounting systems. Your personal qualities will include strong problem-solving skills, exceptional analytical and numerical skills, strong verbal and written communication abilities, a collaborative disposition and resilience in meeting reporting deadlines. Degree qualified, you will be several years post CA/CPA qualifications, preferably with experience in a similar industry. Besides Singapore, knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements in China will be an added advantage. Occasional regional travel may be required.
