Our client is a long-established Canadian subsidiary of a reputable global leader in its sector headquartered and listed in Europe. They are looking for an experienced and hands-on Controller to succeed the incumbent who will be retiring after more than 25 years of employment. The Controller is the only finance/accounting staff member at this small Canadian operation. Despite the small team, the company has been very successful and stable throughout the years.

Duties and responsibilities of the Controller is as follows:

  • Responsible for the full-cycle accounting of the company – GL, AR, AP
  • Ensure timely month-end closing of the financials and prepare all financial reports to submit to the European HQ
  • Prepare the annual budget and monthly forecast
  • Manage and plan the company’s cash-flow
  • Complete and file T2 and other tax compliance – GST/HST
  • Process the biweekly payroll and administer benefits for the company’s staff
  • Manage the foreign exchange and hedging
  • Lead the ERP system upgrade and implementation

Responsibilities:
