QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent, in a recognised University/Institution.
  • Professional certification with a recognised accounting body preferred eg. Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant.
  • Proven experience (at least 8 years) in finance management.
  • Prior Big 4 public accounting experience, preferably in a managerial capacity will be an advantage.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills, ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously, ability to set and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong team management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting/financial concepts and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-Outlook, MS-PowerPoint, MS-Teams, etc.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, is advantageous.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Strides Premier Chief Financial Officer, the candidate will primarily be responsible for:

  • Financial and management reporting – working closely with SMRT Group Finance and key Business Unit Heads and stakeholders.
  • Financial planning; financial and business analysis, budgeting – with a commercial-centric and operational-centric lens.
  • Treasury and cash flow management – to manage working capital needs across business units, and balance cash holdings with debt exposure.
  • Advising CEO & Deputy CEO on finance-related and business matters – to drive financial stability and commercial viability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee, organize and manage the work of Finance teams for all businesses across Taxi, Private Hire Cars, Limousine, Automotive Repair & Maintenance.
  • Manage the preparation of all accounting records for all business units, ensuring accuracy of financial information, ensuring compliance with relevant statutory law and Financial Reporting Standards (“FRS”), and prepare the company financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, YTD and annual basis.
  • Manage the preparation of all financial reports and presentations on a monthly, quarterly, YTD and annual basis, to Senior Management, ARC, EXCO and/or Board; and for submission to the Group Finance (“GF”) and Financial Planning and Analysis (“FP&A”) teams for consolidation. Ensure internal financial reporting processes provide accurate and complete information to relevant internal stakeholders within established deadlines.
  • Direct all aspects of accounting operations for all business units.
  • Analyze financial data, monitor expenses, forecast revenue and expenditure for the business units on a regular basis. Deliver value-added financial/business analysis, define and report meaningful financial and operational metrics that lead to insightful and accurate decision making.
  • Plan, coordinate and drive the annual budgeting cycle with 5-year forecasts.
  • Plan, coordinate and drive the annual year-end statutory audit process.
  • Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and forecasts (Mid-Year Review, Board Retreat).
  • Streamline processes and leverage technology to reduce manual processes and accelerate reporting timelines
  • Ensure appropriate financial and accounting policies, procedures and systems are established to comply with internal control requirements and aligned with SFRS(I).
  • Provide technical accounting knowledge and expertise to evaluate complex business transactions.
  • Support business units in the analysis and review of large capex investments and projects.
  • Drive treasury-related matters such as managing cash flow, cash deposits, loans and hire-purchase instruments.
