YOUR TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting Data Analysts are responsible for the continuous maintenance and development of MSCI’s Accounting Data Service offered to clients invested in public and private markets by accurate and timely data processing. Accounting Data Analysts are tasked with acquiring a deep understanding of clients’ accounting needs. The Analyst is responsible for sourcing client accounting data from investor portals, custodian banks, third party providers, managers, and directly from clients on a regular basis. The data is then analyzed, mapped, and reorganized in preparation for upload to the platform. Once uploaded, data is validated to match to source data, and further data quality checks and performance reconciliations are performed. The majority of work is performed using MS Excel upload templates, which are used for more rapid and accurate processing of large amounts of data, as opposed to manual data entry.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Review and analyze investment transactions, as well as monthly/quarterly fund level accounting packages and quarterly fund level financial statements
- Analyze, reorganize, transcribe, map, and verify sourced data by adhering to a predefined set of policies and procedures, as well as the client-specific needs in preparation for platform upload
- Data validation, reconciliation, visual data inspection and comparison of fund- and portfolio-level values, returns and transactions
- Make recommendations about improvements of policies and procedures
- Communicate data issues and data trends with colleagues and managers
