The Associate Director- Financial Management & Disbursement is responsible for high level oversight and management of team members in addition to contributing to the growth, development, and leadership of the service line. Management of large, multi‐faceted projects and/or multiple projects simultaneously is possible for the position. The position will support new and incremental business development by prospecting, acquiring, and developing new and incremental business with clients and prospects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or other related field required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • 10+ years of previous accounting or finance experience is required.
  • 5+ years in a Consulting and/or Client Support role is preferred.
  • 7+ years in a management or supervisor role is required.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and management skill capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in business and technical environments and within a diverse group of individuals.
  • Able to work in a dynamic, innovative, and continuously evolving environment.
  • Ability to perform effectively, efficiently and with quality under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Possess a high degree of professionalism including the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Technically proficient with the capability of performing at an intermediate or advanced level with software tools including, but not limited to, the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe).
  • May be required to work extended hours during the workweek or on weekends as needed.
  • May be required to travel and work from different company and client locations as needed.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees multi-level workflows and processes in a dynamic environment.
  • Manages and develops a team to effectively accomplish project goals and objectives while ensuring proper time management and productivity.
  • Supports business development activities including client relationship development, program‐specific positioning activities, teaming arrangements, proposal preparation, presentations, and contract negotiations consistent with established business development processes.
  • Ensures the scope of work is completed to the satisfaction of the client and key stakeholders, while simultaneously ensuring that quality, financial, risk management, business and policy expectations are met.
  • Compiles relevant internal & external reports including oversight, reconciliation, and resolution of related financial reporting issues.
  • Maintains financial records and relevant reports in accordance with project compliance requirements.
  • Maintains and reviews accounting and program internal controls; documents and escalates any findings and makes recommendations for improvements, as needed.
  • Responsible for performing quality control review of funds disbursement activities.
  • Oversees all aspects of disbursements related to project administration, including check testing and printing, check reissues, electronic payment methods, Positive Pay exception resolution, data management with appropriate system of record, unclaimed funds bank reconciliations, and administrative payments.
  • Partners with internal tax professionals to oversee the execution and delivery of tax filings for federal, state and local authorities, TIN matching, 1099 processing, and monthly accounting procedures, as projects require.
  • Provides leadership, direction, coaching, and development of team members in the areas of performance management, problem resolution, planning, and assignment of work for Staff, Senior, and Manager consultants.
  • Provides thought leadership and strategic input for best practices, policies, and procedures related to funds disbursement and management.
  • Prepares deliverables/reports for review by the Director and/or Associate Directors that include any noted issues, trends and other micro/macro level risks identified through the execution of client activities and management of team members.
  • Oversees activities and relationships with external process partners and clients.
  • Builds and maintains trusted relationships with diverse group of clients, team members, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Complies with the professional and Firm requirements (e.g., employee handbook requirements, time entry procedures, audit quality control document requirements, etc.) including complying with confidentiality requirements (e.g., client information, proposal information, personnel information, job‐related information, etc.).
  • Maintains a positive attitude and is receptive to constructive feedback.
  • Maintains required CPE hours for firm and licensing standards.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external parties. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional and cooperative manner.
  • Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, and work processes. Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
  • May assist co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service and demonstrating team work skills. Actively supports teamwork throughout the organization.
  • Perform other services as assigned.
