JOB INFORMATION

The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) is seeking a dedicated and analytical Financial Reporting Analyst to join our team in Yellowknife. In this role, you will oversee financial monitoring, analysis, evaluation, and reporting on NTHSSA’s programs and activities. Reporting to and collaborating closely with the Manager of Financial Reporting, you will provide essential accounting and financial support, ensuring adherence to the Financial Administration Act, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and departmental policies and procedures.
As a Financial Reporting Analyst, you play a crucial role in our Business Planning process by preparing funding submissions and decision papers that shape the allocation of resources within the NTHSSA. Handling an average of 10 to 15 requests for supplementary funding annually, amounting to approximately $20 million, your expertise will be pivotal in securing vital resources for health and social services across the Northwest Territories. Utilizing your proficiency in auditing concepts, financial planning, and database management, you will conduct comprehensive analysis and reporting to help guide strategic decision-making and optimize resource allocation. Typically, the qualifications required for the role would consist of the completion of a relevant University Degree combined with two years of directly related experience and/or the 4th level of a recognized professional accounting program combined with two years of directly related experience.
