TalentWorld is recruiting a Financial Reporting Manager in Calgary, Alberta for one of our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement, providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting processes.
  • Coordinate financial audits with external auditors, providing requested documentation, addressing audit findings, and implementing recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring compliance with SEC filings and other reporting obligations.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial reporting systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals responsible for financial reporting and analysis, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth and development.
  • Communicate financial results, forecasts, and analysis to internal stakeholders, including executives, board members, and department heads, in a clear and understandable manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
  • Additional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA) are a desired.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle Financials, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Experience with financial consolidation software, including Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) or Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud (FCCS).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage Intacct.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting software solutions such as Workiva, Certent, or Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Employment Details

  • Benefits: Competitive salary, 40 hours weekly, Contract, Hybrid
  • Schedule: 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday to Friday
  • Other: 12 months contract, Possibility of extension, Opportunity for professional growth and development.
