With its risk and controls data ‘aggregator’ product, this firm is able to help big FS businesses benchmark their risk and controls data vs. their peers and make an honest assessment of ‘where they are at.’ Using the latest tech and with an impressive leadership team, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone in banking or consulting to make an interesting career move. The product has huge implications for cost, efficiency and regulatory approval for firms.
We are looking for someone, ideally, that has a blend of regulatory knowledge, capital markets, risk and controls and data background.
You will be designing, developing and delivering the firm’s offering regarding regulations, enabling banks to improve their risk and control framework as part of non-financial risk management, for specific regulatory obligations.
The role comprises:
1) Research to develop or improve the current offering on regulation. This might include:
- Developing and improving the methodology used to map controls to regulatory obligations, Incl. the content aspect (what makes sense) and the technology aspect (how to best use AI).
- Optimising the sourcing of regulations and regulatory obligations
- Developing new and impactful analysis to make the dataset more interesting and impactful.
2) Delivery of the existing offering to clients (top tier banks)
- Be the “reg expert” as part of the Intelligence & Analytics team and lead regulation related client facing interactions.
- Prepare analysis for the presentation of results and insights to clients, including handling large datasets and extracting insights out of that dataset.
- Prepare analysis based on client pain points and client requests or inquiries.
This is a start-up environment - the team is currently 30 people. We are looking for someone dynamic, who will flourish in an arena with difficult problems around a motivated team to solve them. One of the big pluses for this role is that it will grow with the company. Currently this is an increase of 20-30% year on year. Each employee also gets equity and the payout for long-term hires is considerable.
We are looking for:
1. Strong regulatory knowledge, especially in relation to risk and control issues / operational risk; Mifid 2 would be highly desirable
2. Good knowledge of the banking industry and how a bulge bracket bank functions
3. Effective and sharp communication and presentation skills
4. Impactful leader and ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders
5. Proficiency analysing and working with large data sets
6. Broad knowledge of the regulatory environment in the UK and Europe
7. Ability to work with the regulator and have impact in dealing with senior investment banking stakeholders to convey and analyse the impact of regulation
