As a Commissioning Engineer, it will be your responsibility to undertake Commissioning projects.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENT

You will possess a sound understanding and experience of Commissioning of Fire systems, (Gent) Amberstone will ensure that you are fully trained in the latest relevant safe working practices and training will be provided on different systems should you need it.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3 years experienced with Electronic Security with an NSI Gold accredited company
  • Extremely competent with all types of Fire Systems including Remote Monitoring
  • Be able to carry out maintenance and fault finding to a high level on all system types
  • Successfully meet security screening requirements to BS7858:2009, DBS and Police check
  • A High level of knowledge working on manufactures such as but not limited to: Gent experience is essential with this role.

  • Demonstrate good judgement and the capacity to make rational decisions within limited timeframes.
  • Oversee vehicle stock control.

  • Accurately complete audit paperwork and job sheets, whether manually or electronically.

  • Hold a valid and clean driving license.

Package offered: £38,000 - £45,000 OTE potential. we offer a Competitive Basic salary (depending on experience) which is negotiable Plus overtime.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Amberstone’s project delivery teams to engineer physical layout and system security designs or markups.
  • Evaluate system design before installation and identify any technical, functional, or compatibility issues with the design package, while also acknowledging any deviations from client standards.
  • Assist the project manager in coordinating onsite trades, both external and internal, to ensure that all security dependencies are aligned and completed in a timely manner for successful project delivery on the clients’ First Day of Business.
  • Manage and implement changes to the physical installation in accordance with Client and Amberstone Security’s, as outlined in the agreed design package.
  • Effectively communicate with local service providers, clients, client project teams, and the Amberstone security Project team, both onsite and off-site.
  • Resolve problems by discussing them clearly, clarifying situations, and identifying and explaining potential solutions.
  • Discuss project details, requirements, identified problems, and updates with the Local Service Partner (LSP) to identify and propose clear solutions.
  • Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of Fire systems (Gent trained)
  • Assist with entering basic programming information as directed by the assigned application engineer.
  • Complete Project Testing Commission sheets, site plans, markup drawings, while coordinating with the assigned application engineers during the commissioning process.
  • Follow through on assigned projects to make final adjustments, conduct testing and troubleshooting, and rectify issues as part of the commissioning and signoff process.
  • Ensure that onsite clients are trained in the use of the installed system.
  • Supervise and oversee the installation team, including both internal technicians and local service partners engineering teams, while working onsite.
  • Ensure that the installation quality meets the minimum standards defined in the security design package and aligns with Amberstone security’s best practice guidelines for security installation standards.
  • Provide regular progress updates on jobs and deliver regular status reports to the Project Manager for efficient resource planning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance and uphold standards across Amberstone security and the Asel group
  • Attend site meetings as required and represent the company in an effective and professional manner.
  • Complete personal timesheets, expense reports, project tracker reports, and associated paperwork promptly on a weekly basis.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Health and Safety standards and requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect client security requirements.
  • Perform any other duties assigned.
