JET INDUSTRIES - URGENT FIRE ALARM INSTALL & SERVICE TECHNICIAN

REQUIREMENTS FOR FIRE ALARM INSTALL & SERVICE TECHNICIAN:
- 2 years experience as a Fire Alarm Service Technician preferred
- 2 years experience as a journeyman low voltage electrician preferred
- NICET II Fire Alarm Systems or higher certification. NICET III preferred
- LEA (Limited Energy Technician Class A) Electrical License
- Working knowledge of NFPA Standards (including 70 and 72) Servicing Guidelines and local AHJ requirements (preferred)
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- NICET III Certification within 2 years after NICET II is achieved, if not already certified
- Working knowledge of sprinkler controls, alarm panels, devices, and critical components
- Willing to perform testing and maintenance
- Able to complete documentation as necessary; with or without reasonable accommodation
- Able to use mobile electronics such as a tablet to record and transmit inspection documents
- Willing to coordinate between inspection deficiencies and service required to correct found deficiencies
- Prepared to read and write English clearly
- Capability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, AHJ (Authorities Having Jurisdiction), and the general public
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Willing to pass a post-offer drug test, background, and reference check

Responsibilities:
- Perform fire alarm commissioning to ensure that systems and equipment continue to work according to functional specification
- Perform on-site routine and emergency troubleshooting, programming, and repairs, in addition to the installation, inspection, testing, and servicing of low voltage life safety product lines and fire alarm systems
- Tests all equipment after installation or repairs made to ensure the performance of system
- Ability to troubleshoot, and understand ground faults, shorts, and open circuits
- Responsible for training entry-level employees on Company procedures, systems inspection, and installation techniques
- Maintain a good positive relationship with the customer and pass on information to the appropriate personnel for follow-up, quotes, questions, or concerns
- Identify code and non-conformance issues and correct them according to code standards
- Write and maintain detailed work reports and service tickets
- Read and interpret various blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and product manuals to properly program and verify systems
- Provide customer instruction as it relates to proper device use, preventative care, and consistent maintenance to prevent future system malfunctions
- Evaluate the customer site for additional equipment and services that the customer may require
- Discuss deficiencies noted with a customer, explaining the problem and its resolution
- Assist in the design of new fire alarm systems
- Work with the Project Manager, Schedule Coordinator, and Office Administrative Staff to ensure complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the client (Ensure that work is completed so it can be billed in full)
