Description:

To provide the Trusts staff with advice on their responsibilities under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and other official guidance in respect of Fire Safety in NHS premises.
This relates to the responsibility of the jobholder for individuals or groups of people, other than employees supervised or managed by the jobholder. Covers responsibility, including confidentiality requirements, for the physical, mental, social economic and environmental wellbeing of people, including their health and safety.
The major part of the role will be to conduct Fire risk assessments/audits at times in unpleasant working conditions and advise Management on the requirements and implications of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Liaise with Estates staff in Fire Safety audits and contribute to periodic authoritative reports to Management with regards to the state of Fire Precautions in the Trust premises and other premises to which the Trust provides advisory services.
Advise the Fire Safety Manager of specialist staff training requirements to be carried out by the Education Department.
Provide, as required reports to the Fire safety Committee including details of Fire Incidents and False Alarm incidents and any recommendations in areas for improvements to comply with HTM 05-03 reducing Unwanted fire Signals in Health Care Premises.
Maintain fire plans for all Trust premises in accordance with the requirements of HTM 05-01, HTM 05-02 and HTM 05-03. (Current HTMS with regards to Fire)- Or any subsequent fire related regulations.
