POSITION SUMMARY

Trideum Corporation has an opening for Firing Desk Technician (FDT). This is a full-time position, located in Udairi Range Complex (URC), Camp Buehring, Kuwait.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced knowledge of job area and practical knowledge of project management.
  • Related university degree or four (4) years of equivalent and relevant prior experience.
  • Four (4) or more years of military experience in training management and dismounted/maneuver range operations; preferably in a Movement and Maneuver branch.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a contractor in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and able to obtain GIS certification.
  • Able to complete the Range Operations Professional Development (ROPD) Program IAW AR 350-19 within 30 days of hiring.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project).
  • High proficiency in reading and using a map, giving and accepting directions in topographical terms, and communicating map information to other members of the Range Operations Team.
  • Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Combat Training Center (CTC) (NTC/JRTC/JMRC) experience as an Observer/Controller or extensive CTC experience as BLUFOR/OPFOR.
  • Able to complete the Range Operations Professional Development (ROPD) Program IAW AR 350-19 within 30 days of hiring.
  • Possess a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.
  • Able to exercise good judgment and insight and understand the overall effect of decisions.
  • Able to prioritize responsibilities in order to handle a demanding workload.

  • Experience in operations, training, and range resource management.
  • Experience working with coalition units.
  • Experience working with interpreters.
  • Battalion-level Master Gunner experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

The Firing Desk Technician reports directly to the Firing Desk Supervisor and performs a variety of duties related to monitoring range land conditions and utilization, range use in accordance with the published bulletin, investigations of unauthorized use and inspecting or reporting on existing range improvement projects. He/she performs duties at the customer service desk in order to enable uninterrupted unit training. Other duties include:

  • Monitors and reports range use in accordance with the published bulletin.
  • Subject Matter Expert with AR and DA Pamphlet 385-63 for Range Safety.
  • Monitors and reports unauthorized use investigations and inspects/reports on existing range improvement projects.
  • Works outdoors in rugged terrain, and in remote and austere environments.
  • Works alone, or with other people, during early morning hours and throughout the day.
  • Monitors and reports all cyclic reports as directed in support of the ARCENT TSS Program.
  • Monitors and reports direct coordination with training units and other authorized organizations for all range facilities and training areas.
  • Monitors and reports the enforcement of safety standards on all ranges and or training areas in accordance with DA PAM 385-63.
  • Monitors and reports notification process and closing of all live-fire ranges with all MEDEVACs.
  • Monitors all range communications and ensures status changes within the ArcView (GIS) system.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Travel: Able to travel as required; active & current US Passport.
