Description:

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Fixed Asset Accountant to join our team in Prince George’s County, Maryland. This role will be centered around managing fixed assets, using Sage FAS, and conducting cash reconciliations. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the various aspects of fixed assets and the ability to work efficiently on a team. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with reconciliation projects to ensure the accuracy of financial data
  • Train current staff on the use of Sage Fixed Assets system
  • Conduct regular cash reconciliations to maintain financial stability
  • Monitor and manage fixed assets to ensure accurate recording and valuation
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to fixed assets
  • Conduct regular audits to verify the existence and value of fixed assets
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting principles and regulations
  • Generate regular reports on fixed assets for review by management
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies in the management of fixed assets.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Fixed Asset Accountant
  • A comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Fixed Assets is required
  • Proficiency in using Sage FAS software is mandatory
  • Must have experience in Cash Reconciliations
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification would be a plus
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is essential
  • Proficiency in other accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is advantageous
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations is required.
