Description:
SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 4-7 years of progressively more responsible experience in financial planning & analysis or finance accounting, ideally at a large, global, manufacturing company. Proven evidence of analytical skills with clear business acumen.
- University degree in BA/Economics/Finance (Required)
- Recognised accounting qualification – ACCA, CIMA, ACA would be desirable
- An advance degree (MBA or equivalent) would be desirable
- Solid knowledge of financial statements (balance sheet, P&L and cash flow) and an understanding of accounting (local, US GAAP and/or IFRS). US GAAP experience would be helpful.
- Experience in finance business partnering and a demonstrated understanding of sales and marketing operations. An understanding of retail business is an advantage.
- Experience in working in cross-functional teams and in a matrix organisation. A team player, be able to balance retail and Goodyear processes.
- A hands-on approach to tools and processes and strong communication skills.
- Strong IT skills including the usage of Excel and the familiarity with SAP/Hyperion or ERP system.
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Finance Business Partner. The successful candidate will be a crucial member of the leadership of the UK retail business.
They will be responsible for the FP&A activities of Retail UK/IR, acting as finance business partner for the retail leader and the retail leadership team by providing financial and business support in the decision-making process.
They will support on strategic and management decisions with calculation of scenarios and execution of analysis and business cases. Consult, drive, and support in all business matters from a financial point of view. Additionally, provide finance support on expansion, acquisitions and other investment projects including post-acquisition activities.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare reports and consolidated analyses of monthly, quarterly and annual financial results versus plan, forecast and previous year and maintain reporting standards of the channel P/L, risk opportunities, etc. Clear indication of root causes for deviations, understanding the story behind the numbers and the message behind the negotiations (when applicable).
- Calculation of scenarios to support management decisions and calculation of financial implications of business risks and opportunities. Support on month-end closing activities (e.g. billing of retail income, correctness of retail accruals).
- Support Retail UK/IR leader in designing, aligning and implementing future retail strategy in order to drive volume and earnings. Provide finance support on expansion, acquisition and other investment projects including post-acquisition activities.
- Support the Retail UK/IR leadership team in managing Retail partners issues and interact internally (cross-functional) and externally (whenever needed) to help solving issues which could impact customers business relationship.
- Establish continuous and aligned franchise sell-out reporting based on MIS data including analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual results versus plan, forecast and previous year. Coordinate financial planning process of franchisees.
- Prepare 5-year-plan for Retail UK/IR in line with Retail Europe strategy. Prepare financial plans for Retail UK/IR with a time horizon of 18 months.
