Description:

  • Has min 5 to 10 years of relevant freight analytics and hands-on research experience covering the tanker freight market. This could be in short-term research and analysis in shipping or in commodity trading. Experience covering big macro themes around freight is relevant
  • A good understanding of seaborne tanker bulk trade flows, key commercial players, and market pricing.
  • Experience analysing fundamental supply and demand drivers of the tanker freight market and have some knowledge of forecasting fleet development and vessel earnings. Able to explain big freight rate changes with underlying drivers.

  • Skilled at carrying out complex analysis across multiple datasets using appropriate tools.
  • Has strong attention to details
  • Strong track record of producing insightful written analysis and experience of presenting your findings to varied audiences.
  • Fluent in English and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work and communicate in an international cross-cultural environment.
  • High competency in using Excel. Experience of using SQL, Python, R or Tableau is a plus.

THE TASKS THAT AWAIT YOU

Your role will be to develop insights to commodity and freight fundamentals and insure these are incorporated into trading strategies and the day-to-day commercial actions. More specifically your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Create short term market views based on structured shipping market analysis.
  • Communicate market insights.
  • Ensure all relevant data and market information is available and well organised.
