REQUIRED EXPERIENCES :

  • Engineering Degree or relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in the rail industry.
  • Experience in the design of safety systems.
  • Experience of the maintenance industry.
  • Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety legislation and systems.
  • Working knowledge of safety risk analysis.
  • IT literate with knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project

The Fleet Engineer’s accountabilities are the following:

  • Undertaking LRV failure trend analysis and failure root cause analysis.
  • Raising and resolving allocated FRACAS items that are raised in relation to corrective maintenance.
  • Integrating, leading and directing reliability engineering initiatives to improve parts availability, manage the obsolescence plan, reduce equipment downtime and reduce cost.
  • Assisting with troubleshooting problems, discrepancies and investigations of failure modes and/or non-conformances.
  • Liaising with Transdev Group projects in France to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Managing trials and testing of new systems and products
  • Developing standard procedures for rectification of common defects.
  • Reviewing repeat defects and provide technical support for rectification.
  • Developing return to service plans for long-term stopped trams.
  • Supporting training and development of technical staff.
  • Delivering driver information sessions to provide feedback on recent failures
