We are delighted to announce a new role at HX, as Fleet HVAC Engineer, you’ll be responsible for all vessels maintenance and training of our ships heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration plants.
Working closely with teams ships and shore this is a great opportunity to drive continuous improvement and excellence in this area.

Duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:

  • Promoting excellence in safety culture and awareness in accordance with good seamanship
  • Balancing and overseeing that all components of ships heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration plants are operating within designed limits.
  • Ensures that maintenance and repair of the ship´s HVAC equipment/system throughout the ship are up to date to the cruise line´s standard and international regulations
  • Training of Technical crew in maintenance and Freon handling and hotel crew on proper cleaning procedures.
  • Observes and adheres to all company policies and marine regulations.
  • Assisting vendors and service personnel
  • Cooperating with engineers and fitters on necessary tasks
  • Report any non-conformities or defects
  • Supports ships operation with technical expertise

QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES

  • 2nd Engineer Unlimited CoC and/or recognized refrigeration qualification (City and Guilds or NVQ3)
  • Knowledge of Refrigeration and Refrigerant Gases
  • At least 3 years experience as a HVAC Engineer on board a passenger ship
  • All required certification as per STCW
  • Good command of English language
