Description:
Armour Transportation Systems is currently seeking a Fleet Manager to join our team Moncton, NB. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of a fleet of 35 company and/or owner-operator (with the ability to flex to 45) trucks coordinating the safe and timely movement of all freight into and out of Atlantic Canada.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:
- CITT, Business Certificate, Industry Certification, or 2 to 5 years previous work experience in the transportation industry
- minimum of 2 years dispatch experience
- previous experience supervising others will be considered an asset
- Excellent time management skills
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Computer literacy and a strong understanding of Microsoft Office is required.
- Experience and understanding of the TruckMate system is considered an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Driver Relationships with Long Haul Fleet
- Ability to work with and lead a team
- Ensure driver training completion/compliance for Macro Use
- Ensure fleets achieve miles per week targets
- Manage and maximize up-time of fleet
- On-time delivery
- Retention of fleet and work with the recruiting team on programs to enhance
Idle-time management of fleet
- Safety compliance (HOS, speed, hard braking)
- Load Planning – work with planning team to optimize and maximize service to customers.
- Equipment Utilization – Trailer Bank
- Vacation planning of your fleet to ensure adequate power to meet customer requirements
- Direct contact for Customer Service Team on Long Haul moves
- Analytical decision making
- Able to give and accept constructive criticism
Solid understanding of geography and time and distance
