Hackney is one of Britain’s most exciting and fastest-changing boroughs. We have changed the reputation, not just of the Council, but of Hackney itself. The challenges that have arisen over the last two years have intensified the need for action and we are determined to rebuild Hackney for, and with, our diverse communities.
Hackney Council is looking for someone to provide administrative support to the Fleet Management Unit to ensure legal compliance is maintained and service delivery targets met. Predominantly based in our Council Fleet Team Office within the Hackney Service Centre, you will occasionally be required to attend/work within various operational depots. You will support the Unit with efficient and effective service delivery.
As the central point of contact for the Council’s fleet users you will respond to queries (both financial and operational), raise orders, process and reconcile invoices for payment. You will be required to run regular reports in relation to the fleet and ensure that all records are up to date, and may be involved in some project work within the Unit.
It would be desirable though not essential to have an understanding of how Fleet systems operate. You will require an analytical approach, excellent attention to detail and the ability to digitise historical manual files and documents. You will need to be highly organised, able to prioritise your own workload and meet strict deadlines, be IT literate and have strong administration skills. Ideally from a fleet transport background or similar environment you will have a willingness to learn and progress within this industry.
Additionally, Hackney offers great benefits including a range of flexible working options, discounts and other schemes to help you save money and the opportunity to plan for your future by joining the local government pension scheme (more details are available online here: https://recruitment.hackney.gov.uk/what-we-offer/overview/
