REQUIREMENTS FOR FLEET TECHNICIAN:

  • Have previous mechanical experience
  • You’re smartphone savvy - you’ll frequently use our Beam app and Slack
  • Able to communicate effectively with your team and keep them up to date on work in progress
  • Able to organise your own day and prioritise tasks with support from Operations Team.
  • Have high standards and strong attention to detail
  • Motivated, energetic and physically fit; comfortable lifting and moving 25kg+ e-vehicles throughout your shift
  • Keen to learn new skills and adapt to new concepts
  • Able to use initiative and creativity to solve problems that arise

REQUIREMENTS FOR VAN MARSHAL:

  • Valid Driver License
  • Meet the requirements of our van insurance - generally need to be at least 25 years old
  • Excellent driving skills, you need to treat the van like your own. You are comfortable driving a van (previous van / heavy vehicle driving experience desirable)
  • Willing and able to complete physically demanding work, you will be lifting our e-vehicles of approx. 25kgs in and out of the van throughout your shift
  • Smartphone savvy with access to your personal phone. You will be using the Beam app and Slack throughout your shift
  • Good communicator capable of working with both internal staff and customers
  • Able to work effectively within a team and solo on shifts
  • Willing to learn and adapt to new policies, procedures and concepts
  • Attention to detail and sense of pride in your work
  • Good understanding of the local area is desirable
    Pay Rate: $30.63 per hour (include casual loading

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AS A FLEET TECHNICIAN:

As a Fleet Technician, you’ll play an important role in Beam’s success on the streets. You’ll be based at our warehouse and responsible for the quality of our e-vehicles. You will come to know our e-vehicles from top to bottom, inside and out, and will be capable of doing anything from quick repairs to total refurbishments if necessary. We are looking for someone who takes real pride in their work and ensures that Beam’s e-vehicles remain the safest and most reliable vehicles out there.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AS A VAN MARSHAL:

  • Operate our vans to deploy, redistribute and swap batteries on our fleet of e-vehicles
  • Patrol the city to ensure that our e-vehicles are appropriately parked and that the city remains neat and tidy
  • Conduct in-field quality checks and collect any damaged e-vehicles for repair at the warehouse
  • Perform basic maintenance on Beam e-vehicles to ensure that our riders will continue using the safest and most reliable vehicles
  • Evaluate and provide feedback to the Operations team on current and potential parking locations
  • Report any bad behaviour of riders to the Operations team in line with Beam’s Three Strikes policy against anti-social behaviour
  • Support the marketing and promotion of Beam’s services, such as by helping people who have questions about the company, how to create a Beam account or how to safely ride an e-vehicle
  • Assist with recovering lost and missing scooters
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform duties
  • Problem solve issues when in the field and find creative ways to overcome obstacles.
