Description:

The Quality Manager is responsible for all aspects of Quality Control and Assurance and Food Safety adherence. The Quality Manager will supervise the Quality department, which includes handling all personnel and policies. Quality Managers ensure their teams follow established rules for handling Quality issues; these rules are meant to address Quality issues promptly while retaining profitability. They assign work to employees and oversee schedules under the guidance of their manager and human resources guidelines. Quality Managers train new employees on proper testing procedures, GMP expectations, and safety habits. The expectation of the Quality Manager is to handle day-to-day Quality activities; they are positioned to offer feedback on procedures and recommend improvements to management. Additionally, Quality Managers implement testing procedures as outlined by their manager and according to industry standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful candidate must have strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and be familiar with inspection techniques and Quality standards.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience, BS degree, or equivalent industry experience
  • GFSI/HACCP experience, green or black belt certificate
  • Must have leadership skills and be able to lead a team
  • Ability to read, write and speak for company communications and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience/proficiency with PC, mouse, keyboard, and Microsoft Office software

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality of information to Company and Federal standards.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and be able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Must be dependable and work within Company conduct standards; consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback to improve performance.
  • Experience dealing with customers and suppliers

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the selection, workflow, training, and development of Quality staff.
  • Assess production process issues and recommend improvements.
  • Partners with production and all departments to ensure a customer-centric & food safety culture and sustain best practices.
  • Supervises product testing to ensure procedure accuracy.
  • Assists in developing and implementing Quality assurance programs to meet production standards and customer requirements.
  • Builds strong working relationships with customers and peers.
  • Complies with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOPs) and any job or department specific SOPs.
  • Works with the team on root cause investigations for internal and external opportunities.
  • Ensures complete execution of the QMS and Food Safety Systems.
  • Works with teams to develop and implement best practice standardization.
  • Recommends manufacturing or technology aids to increase speed and efficiency of Quality products.
  • Special Projects & other duties as necessary
