Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Flight Systems Weapons has an exciting opportunity for a Flight Engineering Manager at Hill AFB, UT.
The candidate in this management job leads a dynamic team in supporting ongoing missile program flight tests, guidance equipment technology insertion, and field representation. Cross-functional work between various Integrated Product Teams (IPT), customer interface and coordination, testing, and product sustainment are all elements in the scope of work supporting this national priority program. In addition to the candidate leading the activities of a team of engineers within a larger missile program supporting the systems engineering, the leader also manages the missile silo site field representatives that provide customer feedback, problem solving, and potential emerging readiness or obsolescence issues.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 5+ years of engineering and production program GN&C (Guidance, Navigation & Control) related experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Advanced Engineering, Math or Physics degree.
- Missile GNC engineering experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Flight Engineering for the Guidance Team.
- Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
- Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
- Manages, develops and motivates employees.
