Job Summary:

As a Pilot-in-Waiting, you will be an integral part of the Summit Air team in the role of Flight Follower, gaining exposure to our fleet of both passenger and cargo aircraft.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with scheduling and dispatching of all aircraft on a daily basis
  • Ensure compliance with company and Transport Canada regulations
  • Check flight plans for completeness and accuracy
  • Review and maintain flight logs and other reports
  • Brief flight crews prior to departure and provide pilots with information essential to aviation safety
  • Contact crew prior to flights to ensure awareness of upcoming flight schedule
  • Delay or cancel flights as warranted
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Operational Control Centre Manager

Qualifications

  • Holds current commercial pilot license (IATRA preferred)
  • Multi-IFR training is a definite asset
  • Previous experience in a dispatch or flight follower role preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent MS Office and related computer skills
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Must meet pre-employment drug & alcohol testing requirements

Working Conditions

  • Pilot-in-waiting positions are expected to lead to flying positions
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada, and currently residing in Canada
