Description:
Advanced Medical Solutions Inc. (AMS) is currently accepting applications for a full time Registered Nurse working a 3 weeks on & 3 weeks off rotation with our ACCESS Air Ambulance Program.
Our Transport Team services 33 NWT communities from 2 bases, Yellowknife and Inuvik.
ACCESS Air Ambulance is one of only 3 CAMTS Accredited Services in Canada.
FLIGHT TEAM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current RN License
- Minimum 3 years emergency or critical care experience as a RN
- Previous Experience in an Air Ambulance environment is an asset
- Current CPR, ACLS, ITLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE
- Instructor status in the above-mentioned certifications would be considered an asset
Responsibilities:
- Planning patient care following established guidelines and policies
- Coordination of equipment and staff to transport patient safely and effectively
- Monitoring and managing patient care during all stages of the transport process
- Complete and concise patient documentation
- Effective communication with all members of the health care team involved in the transport and care of the patient
- Always maintain patient confidentiality and respect the rights of the patient
- Identifies, intervenes, and responds appropriately during crisis situations
- Identifies questionable assignments and procedures and seeks guidance as necessary following established lines of communication
- Recognizes personal strengths and limitations and seeks guidance as required
- Attends educational opportunities and maintains all necessary certifications
- Promotes a harmonious working environment and utilizes appropriate communication techniques during professional interactions
- Practices active listening skills, interviewing and problem-solving techniques effectively
- Maintaining and checking all equipment and ensuring it is in proper working order
- Assisting the Air Ambulance Manager with administrative duties as required
