Description:

Rex is Australia’s largest independent regional and domestic airline operating a fleet of Saab 340 and Boeing 737-800NG aircraft to 58 destinations throughout all states in Australia. In addition to the airline Rex, the Rex Group comprises wholly owned subsidiaries Pel-Air Aviation (air freight, aeromedical and charter operator), the Australian Airline Pilot Academy with campuses in Wagga Wagga and Ballarat, and propeller maintenance organisation, Australian Aerospace Propeller Maintenance. Rex is also a 50% shareholder of National Jet Express (NJE), a premier Fly-In-Fly-Out (FIFO), charter and freight operator.
An excellent opportunity exists for suitably qualified and enthusiastic individuals to join Regional Express in the role of Flight Simulator Technician. This is a full-time position located in Sydney (Mascot) or Wagga Wagga.
You will apply your technical skills and knowledge to provide preventative maintenance for our full flight simulators.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks on the simulator and associated simulator systems.
  • Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulator and associated simulator systems.
  • Utilise a Maintenance Management System to record and track maintenance activities.
  • Complete all designated training activities.
  • Actively pursue continued professional growth and training.
  • Run and evaluate required CASA approved Qualification Test Guide (QTG) tests.
  • Assist with CASA recurrent evaluations.
  • Perform pre-flight and post flight checks on all simulators.
  • Perform visual alignments.
  • Perform software changes to correct problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
  • Learn and comply with the Rex Group Quality Management System.
  • Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair and testing/validation.
  • Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required.
  • Undertaking a range of scheduled and ad hoc maintenance tasks.
  • Provide technical support to simulator upgrade projects.
  • Play an active role in Rex’s workplace health & safety program.
