Description:

We currently have a position come available for a ward clerk to work 23 hours over 2 days over a 7-day period 7am – 7pm.
The job purpose will be to act as the front line member for the ward by providing an effective reception service to visitors and staff, promoting a professional image at all times.
To maintain a high level of patient care / customer service on the ward.
To provide administrative support to the nursing staff and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
To act as a receptionist / first point of contact for all visitors to the ward creating a welcoming, professional image at all times.
To effectively organise your workload under your own initiative, without the need of supervision.
To maintain a tidy, welcoming day room area updating leaflet displays / notice boards etc.
To book transport for patients for discharge through electronic system.
Answer the telephone for the department and deal with any queries either by providing the correct information or by referring the call on to the appropriate member of staff.
Take accurate messages when necessary.
To book ward discharge follow up appointments using the ICS system as requested by the nursing staff.
Photocopy patient information and other documents as requested.
Ensure case notes are tracked and processed appropriately.

To organise and help maintain an efficient reception area / nurses’ station as part of the Productive Ward initiatives.
