We are competent in providing primary and remedial (P&A) oilfield cementing services, downhole isolation technologies, soil stabilization and fluid services. Many of these services can be applied across various industries, such as oil & gas, agriculture, construction, roads and infrastructure, laydown yards, and retention ponds. Reporting to the Fluid Services Manager, the Fluids Operator 1 is responsible for operating and maintaining vac trucks, water trucks, and other vehicles within the fleet, performing shop maintenance, and supporting the vac and water services business line. This position will also be expected to support Magnum’s other service lines in the off season. This position is considered to be a safety-sensitive position.
Job Responsibilities
Operate equipment at various sites as per Magnum’s and the customer’s requirements.
Ensure the job site placement of the equipment is safe, stable, and secure.
Ensure all equipment and components are in good working condition.
Conduct pre and post trip inspections by following Magnum’s policies and procedures for routine maintenance.
Safely and efficiently load and chain down equipment for transport.
Understand load securement and hours of service regulations
Follow all local, provincial, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
Demonstrate a commitment to environmental compliance and safe work practices. Follow safety standards set by Magnum and the customer
Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation properly within set timelines; this includes daily logs, dispatch and trip reports, timesheets, etc.
Ensure customer and client satisfaction by providing excellent customer service at all times.
Perform general housekeeping to ensure units are in a clean state and operating properly.
Keep the shop and yard clean, including floors, washrooms, coffee rooms, and wash bay.
Perform laundry duties and ensure cleaned items are put away in their designated areas.
Operate compactors, water trucks and class 1 units (if able) with a trailer competently and perform all required maintenance.
Operate bulker pneumatic blower and offload trailer without supervision.
Support the progression of Junior Operators through hands-on training and development.
Understand load securement and hours of service regulations.
Safely and efficiently load and chain down equipment for transport.
Keep the shop and yard clean, including floors, washrooms, coffee rooms, and wash bay.
Put parts and tools away in identified storage locations.
Assist with cleaning, maintaining, spotting and working on equipment.
Perform laundry duties and ensure cleaned items are put away in their designated areas
Extract soil samples accurately and in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED:

Class 3 or 1 (Canada) / class A CDL (U.S.) license with a clean driving record.
Minimum one-year equipment operating experience.
Physically capable of moving/lifting heavy objects up to 23 kg., bending, standing, and climbing repeatedly for extended periods.
Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time and in all types of weather conditions.
Willing to travel for assignments, for up to two weeks at a time. Accommodations will be provided.
Willing to support other business lines in the off season.
Able to work overtime and travel.
Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.

QUALIFICATIONS - LOOKING FOR:

Previous experience as an operator in the vac and water services industry.
Worked in a similar environment (shop sites, remote locations).
Knowledge of Federal Hours of Service.
Paperwork and computer skills as well as the ability to make timely submissions.
Maintenance knowledge, mechanically inclined, and have the ability to troubleshoot.
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, reliable, and dependable.
Flexible and able to adapt to change.
Understands the importance of safety.
Team player and customer service focused.
Demonstrated initiative and results orientated.

QUALIFICATIONS - ASSETS:

Possesses safety tickets.
Experience dealing with customers.
