Description:

Yulong Stud have an opportunity available for a suitably experienced person to join our team for the 2024 breeding season as a Foaling Attendant.
Starting at the end of July 2024 and reporting to the Stud Manager, you will play an important role in our foaling unit. This is a great opportunity to work with a team of experienced and passionate horse people.

Your duties would include but not be limited to:

  • Monitoring mares, identifying the signs of foaling, delivery of foals and providing pre- and post-natal care.
  • Administration of treatments IV, IM and Orally as directed by Manager/Vet.
  • Picking yards, stables, and foaling paddocks.
  • Preparing feeds and following any feeding instructions as directed by Manager/Vet.

To be successful, you must demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Experience in foaling mares and monitoring foals post birth.
  • Experience administering treatments IV, IM and Orally.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • A team player with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Reliable and with a great work ethic.
  • An eye for detail and ability to communicate clearly.
  • Driver’s licence.
  • Eligible to work in Australia.

At the end of the breeding season, there may be opportunities to work in other areas of the stud, such as yearling prep and foal handling.
