Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
The Gisborne NOC department is looking for a Foreperson to lead an experienced crew to carry out stabilising repairs across the Tairāwhiti region on a day-to-day basis.

Duties within your team will include:

  • Planning tasks with the supervisor, and following up to ensure they are completed efficiently and to the required specification and standard
  • Ensuring efficient use of materials, supplies and equipment
  • Providing and organising on-the-job development/training for the team and supporting general career development

This is a “hands-on” opportunity that will see you provide direction and motivation to your crew while working alongside them in the field.

NGA PŪKENGA MATUA | IMPORTANT SKILLS

To be successful in this role, you will be a multiskilled operator within the civil construction and/or maintenance industry. Previous experience as a Foreperson or Leading Hand is desirable however if you’ve got the know-how and ready for the next step in your career, then we still want to hear from you. You will also have:

  • Minimum Full Class 2 with WTR endorsements
  • Previous experience in pavement stabilisation, rehabilitation and minor civil services is essential
  • The ability to deal with unexpected events/make decisions and provide direction to work teams
  • Show a willingness/provide solution to assist with a “continual improvement” philosophy.Commitment to safe workplace practises
