AXIS is seeking a FP&A Lead to join our Finance team. The position will be the Finance Business partner to the Head of North America Insurance and underwriters in the division by providing dedicated financial planning and analysis for the NA Division of AXIS Insurance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and coordinate the strategy, budgeting and forecasting process for the division
  • Co-ordinate and analyze monthly and quarterly management information for the division including;
  • Comparison of underwriting result to forecast and budget and prior period
  • MD&A style narrative report
  • Internal management reporting including production reports vs. budget and prior year at business unit and regional levels
  • Policy metric reporting
  • G&A Expenses
  • Other reports and analysis as may be deemed necessary from time to time
  • Prepare presentations for quarterly board updates, leadership meetings and rating agencies
  • Develop and enhance management reporting capabilities
  • Assist in the evaluation of new business initiatives and strategic opportunities
  • Participate in planning and product reviews in conjunction with actuarial department
  • Assist with systems development and enhancements and monitor data quality
  • Interface with group finance to support monthly, quarterly and year end close functions, data requirements and inquiries
  • Review quarterly incentive commission listing and settlements with AXIS’ key broking partners
  • Performs other duties as required

Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • An Internationally recognized accounting qualification with at least 10 years progressively responsible insurance accounting, budgeting, planning and financial reporting experience
  • Significant United States Property and Casualty insurance experience
  • Experience in all aspects of forecasting, reserving and accounting for US Insurance business involving complex transactions and systems
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills with business partners and underwriters
  • A proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure with ability to respond to changing priorities

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $200K - $275K . The specific salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including the experience of the successful candidate and their work location.
