POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Fragrance Evaluation Associate, you will undergo comprehensive training to develop your skills in fragrance evaluation and analysis. You will work closely with experienced perfumers and fragrance evaluators to learn the intricacies of scent composition, olfactive analysis techniques, and sensory evaluation methods. This position offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of fragrances and contribute to the development of innovative scent solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years fragrance or product development experience preferred.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong olfactory skills and a passion for fragrance evaluation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to discern subtle differences in scent profiles.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Prior experience in fragrance evaluation or sensory science is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Study fragrance raw materials and olfactive families with perfumers and Evaluation Managers. Develop an understanding of fragrance language and its application to fragrance description and creation.
  • Learn the Bell’s project tracking system and be able to track due dates as well as all processes necessary to deliver projects in a timely manner.
  • Daily Morning Meeting, Daily Project review, new products meetings, and marketing trend reviews.
  • Train in conducting evaluations of fragrances and new products using olfactive analysis techniques to assess various attributes such as hedonics, strength, performance, and stability.
  • Assist in organizing and participating in fragrance evaluation panels to gather feedback on scent compositions from a diverse group of evaluators.
  • Support perfumers and evaluators in the development and refinement of fragrances by providing detailed olfactive feedback and analysis.
  • Assist the Evaluation Mangers in gathering necessary project benchmarks, and unfragranced bases.
  • Stay informed about market, lifestyle, olfactive, and industry trends that effect consumer’s fragrance preferences.
  • Develop an understanding of the olfactive DNA of various fine fragrance, personal and home care categories.
  • Understand emerging technologies, and advancements in fragrance to contribute fresh ideas, olfactive inspiration and insights to the Creative R&D team.
