Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Management of Freedom of Information (FOI) Requests. Assist with FOI reporting, policy and procedure updates and training and awareness activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate requests for document access, determining if documents can be provided outside of FOI guidelines.
  • Oversee the processing, maintenance, and decision-making of FOI requests, including third-party consultations and notifications as per FOI regulations and standards.
  • Handle interactions with the Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner (OVIC) regarding reviews or complaints about request handling, which may involve submitting written responses.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating FOI policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with information statements outlined in the FOI Act.
  • Remain updated on FOI practices, consistently applying them in alignment with legislative obligations and professional standards.
