Description:
We are seeking a Freelance Senior Art Director with a passion for great design to contribute to compelling digital campaigns and experiences.
As a visual storyteller, you will bring creative concepts to life in digital marketing materials. The ideal candidate is driven, accountable, and can work efficiently under quick-turn timelines. This is an opportunity to work on an account that is one of the most influential commerce and music hubs in the world.
Location: Hybrid out of our Long Beach, CA offices.
Schedule: Hybrid - In office three days per week (Tues, Wed, Thurs) and 2 remote
Hourly Salary Range: $40- $45/hr
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6 to 8 years of agency experience.
- Minimum 2 years as a Senior Art Director.
- Expertise in Figma and Adobe Suite.
- A strategic thinker.
- Experience collaborating with copywriters.
- Proven creative/marketing design and art direction skills (portfolio required).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Self-directed, motivated, and resourceful with excellent time management.
- BA in Marketing, Advertising, Design, or related field.
- Proficient in using a Macintosh computer and OS.
- Excellent sensibility for photography, illustration, and typography.
- Motion graphics experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of online marketing, visual design, usability, accessibility, interaction design, brand principles, and the creative process.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and dedication to proper delivery.
- Ability to adapt and problem solve proactively with a sense of urgency.
- Comfortable presenting work internally and to clients with confidence.

Responsibilities:
- Develop on-brand creative concepts for digital visuals in marketing campaigns (app graphics, emails, websites, banners, social, static/video content, etc.).
- Ensure design consistency by adhering to brand guidelines and design systems.
- Present creative ideas to clients with clarity and confidence.
- Listen attentively, ask insightful questions, and interpret feedback.
- Work effectively in a high-energy, speed-of-news environment.
- Proficient in Adobe Suite and Figma.
- Oversee projects from start to finish, review and provide feedback and provide direction on fellow designers’ work.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring seamless execution of creative deliverables.
- Take a hands-on approach, engaging in creative tasks.
- Collaborate with account managers, project managers, strategy teams, and production teams to create innovative consumer content programs.
- Craft storyboards and provide art direction for motion graphics and videos.
- Maintain well-organized working files for smooth collaboration.
- Stay updated on online advertising trends and best practices.
