WE ARE SEEKING FOR

Not all high school certificates are recognized as entrance qualification to the German university system. In many cases, admission is subject to additional requirements, with the “Feststellungsprüfung” of the Studienkolleg Hamburg being the best alternative. This “Feststellungsprüfung” is taken in English in May & June each year. After passing this examination, which is on the level of upper secondary school, the participants have fulfilled the formal requirement to enter our Bachelor program.
We are searching for teachers who prepare high school graduates for the “Feststellungsprüfung”. All participants of the Preparation Program are obliged to take courses in Mathematics, Economics, and Geography. Dependent on their language skills, courses in German and English are mandatory, too.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics; ideally a master’s degree or a completed teacher training program (e.g. Staatsexamen).
• Teaching experience at the high school level is an advantage.
• Fluency in English.
• Good teaching skills, open-mindedness, service orientation.

• Teaching Mathematics on the high school level in preparation for the “Feststellungsprüfung”. You will teach between 8 to 10 lessons per week, which are generally spread over three days. Each lesson covers 45 minutes. Teaching period is September 2024 to end of April/beginning of May 2025.
• Assigning homework; conducting interim tests.
• Teaching is exclusively in English.
