Description:

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a motivated Freight Broker to join our team and assist in expanding our client base by selling freight services to shippers. This position involves outbound sales calls to secure new business relationships with shippers and effectively manage freight bookings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ years of experience in logistics
  • Proven experience in freight brokerage or logistics, with a strong understanding of all transportation verticals.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with clients and carriers.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications and logistics platforms, including transportation management systems (TMS) and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements, with a commitment to upholding ethical and legal standards in all dealings.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing market conditions and client needs, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Outreach:
  • Conduct proactive outbound sales calls to potential shippers to promote freight services.
  • Utilize sales techniques to identify and engage decision-makers within target companies.
  • Present our freight solutions effectively, highlighting benefits and competitive advantages.
  • Client Acquisition:
  • Identify and qualify prospective shippers, understanding their transportation needs.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of leads through research, networking, and referrals.
  • Develop relationships with shippers to secure ongoing freight bookings.
  • Freight Booking:
  • Negotiate rates and terms with shippers to secure profitable freight opportunities.
  • Coordinate shipments and manage logistics to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with carriers and shippers to facilitate smooth transactions.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Provide excellent customer service and address any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with shippers to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, offering personalized service and solutions.
  • Market Analysis:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitive offerings.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for business growth and optimization.
  • Adapt strategies based on market feedback and evolving customer needs.
