Description:
Holliston’s Miller Elementary School has an upcoming opening for a 3rd Grade French Immersion Teacher for the 24-25 school year. This is a 1.0 FTE position (7:25am-2:10pm). The start date for this position is August 26, 2024.
REQUIREMENTS:
- DESE certification in Elementary Education
- Fluent in French
French Immersion is a program of instructions where children are taught solely in the French language. It is considered traditional with respect to the standards-based curriculum, classroom organization, structure of the day and materials, but is predominantly teacher-directed due to the importance of language modeling.The Early Immersion Model capitalizes on the ease with which young children acquire language in a natural setting where the new language is the only means of communication. In this way, a new language is acquired through listening and speaking.Generally, students enter the program at the kindergarten level.
