MyWay: provides a suite of insurance products to RV owners and hirers, giving them the confidence to fully engage with CHL Group’s peer-to-peer platforms.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Passionate about coding and keeping up to date with the latest technology trends
  • Great understanding of responsive development for cross-device compatibility
  • Experience with agile, iterative, and domain driven development methodologies
  • Strong problem solving, resolution, negotiation and decision-making capabilities
  • Resilience to work well under pressure and within a rapidly changing environment
  • Eagerness and ability to learn quickly and to share learnings with team members

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We’re growing and need to hire a Front End Engineer to join our global team based in Newcastle!
You’ll be responsible for creating and integrating features across CHL products with a vision that is technologically future proofed, and in a manner that continues to inspire our holidaymakers across the globe.
You’ll collaborate with other engineers, working on best practices, principles and patterns pertaining to our technology stack. Working closely with user experience designers, as well as the greater business to ensure products and features are developed to the standards expected by CHL.
To be successful as a CHL Software Engineer, you should demonstrate great skill in creativity and innovation, ability to thrive in a high pressure environment, and possess excellent communication skills. Having extensive experience in software development, with a desire to keep up-to-date with the industry.
Ideally, we would like the successful candidate to be based in Newcastle, NSW. For the right candidate, a remote working arrangement would be considered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and implement technical solutions that elevate the experience for CHL’s global customer base.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and build out patterns and abstractions that emphasize efficiency, reusability, and maintainability.
  • Peer review fellow software engineers’ work, offering constructive feedback where relevant
  • Contribute to the team’s ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Other duties reasonably requested by the Front End Lead and Chief Technology Officer.
