Description:

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience (R11k – R14k)
The position available, entails the following:
1. To undertake front of house duties, including greeting and attending to the needs of guests, to ensure a superb customer service experience.
2. To build a good rapport with all guests and resolve any complaints/issues quickly to maintain high quality customer service.
3. To deal with guest requests to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay.
4. Check guests into rooms and checking out guests
5. Provide information about restaurants, activities and services
6. To be responsible for accurate and efficient accounts and guest billing processes
7. To assist in keeping the hotel reception area, dining room and patio clean and tidy at all times, as well as the upstairs venue and balcony

  1. To undertake general office duties:

  • Ensure the smooth running of the reception area.
  1. To administer all routes of reservations to ensure that room bookings are made and recorded accurately.
  2. To ensure that all reservations and cancellations are processed efficiently. Follow up on all payments, provisional reservations and requests meeting turnaround times.
  3. To keep up to date with room prices and special offers to provide accurate information to guests.
  4. To report any maintenance, breakage, or cleanliness problems to the General or Maintenance Manager.
  5. To administer the general petty cash system and float in an accurate manner.
  6. Act as Duty Manager when required.
  7. To host, assist and engage with guests during breakfast, lunch and dinner or conferences / weddings
  8. Upselling of all merchandise
  9. Servicing of beverages and food
  10. Setting up buffet and stocking honesty bar
  11. Setting up of braai, cooking and preparing platters, light meals and picnics
  12. Making rounds at the swimming pool and room to ensure guests are happy
  13. Assist with room checks and managing housekeeping
  14. Stock control
  15. Assist with social media
    The above are guidelines for this position, but it will not be limited to these, and the staff member may be asked to assist in any other departments where help might be needed
