We are actively recruiting high achieving individuals with Project Management expertise on technology-enabled transformation projects/programmes within Financial Services.

Responsibilities:

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the management & delivery of the IT driven project in accordance with Client Project Management Methodology and SDLC, including project planning, estimations, managing project stakeholders, execution, schedule, cost, risk and procurement,
  • Managing delivery with the distributed (cross geographical, cross vendor) or co-located team.
  • Summarize technical scenarios in the integrated system project planning (synchronization deliverables between subprojects) and in the system delivery plan (agreed content of planned deliveries).
  • Technical due diligence on project acquisitions. Getting high level end to end integrated solution picture built with the help of solution and technical architects.
  • Regular reporting and coordination with all impacted IT teams to check effective delivery of the system/solution. Effective communicates with stakeholders to provide regular, timely and accurate information and status updates.
  • Work with PMO to achieve better quality, consistency and oversight of Projects and Programs.
  • Provides IT Project Management capability with either an IT application development or IT Infrastructure focus to support the IT components of the business change initiatives.
  • Work with internal IT Infrastructure, Solutions and architecture, Information Security & Application development teams and multiple Strategic partners to support the delivery of projects.

  • Makes decisions within defined methodology and appropriately actions on any variances on project scope, schedule, financials, risk, issue, resourcing and governance.
  • Escalates decisions that cannot be resolved within the project to the agreed governance forums.
  • Responsible for adherence to Client project methodology and makes changes so that deviations are addressed.
  • Identifies, drives and leads problem solving and issue management for the project deliverables. This involved coordinating Client’s internal technical expertise and IT strategic partners working closely with all stakeholders in the delivery of IT change.
  • Checks that the right stakeholders are identified and actively engaged on the project.
  • The role involves working with Project Managers from other parts of the organisation to check that optimal outcomes are achieved in terms of quality, value and timely delivery of IT components of change.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with senior project stakeholders (IT & Business).
  • Prepare and present project analysis, insights and recommendation to assist agreed governance forums with decision making

PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coaches colleagues in the development of compelling business cases
  • Present business cases for recommended solutions, defining potential benefits, costs, options, risks and impact
  • Proactively manages any potential risks or issues

TO QUALIFY FOR THE ROLE, YOU MUST HAVE

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in a banking client facing role for a leading consulting or professional services company in delivery of large-scale complex change/transformation programmes or systems integration programmes or at least 7 years’ experience working for an EU / UK Financial Services. company / Bank, in delivery of large-scale complex change/transformation programmes or systems integration programmes.
  • Must possess strong experience within the Payments Industry; experience in the EU / UK Financial Services sector e.g. Retail Banking, Payments, Credit, Mortgages.
  • Have a proven track record of IT delivery of large-scale complex change programmes ideally in a financial services environment Candidate project manager should have credible experience operating at this level.
  • Have a proven ability to be able to take a ‘big picture’ delivery and project management view as well as being able to work at a detailed level across a broad range of contract types and engagement approaches.
  • Experience leading IT change projects with a range of streams, partners and technologies (incl. IT infrastructure, IT Security, IT Operations, IT applications etc.) across the full delivery lifecycle.
  • Have experience in seeking the alignment of business and IT, operating across organisational and technology silos to drive common approaches, delivering sustainable, agile and re-usable solutions.
  • Strong presentation skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Address any deficiencies in the existing system development lifecycle with specific proposals for improvement.
  • At least one accreditation and practitioner experience of a range of Project Management qualification (PRINCE II, PMI, or equivalent to professional standard).

Ideally, you’ll also

  • Have a Project Management track record with a blue-chip consulting or systems integration firm or as an IT Project Manager within a leading Enterprise/Organisation
  • Be comfortable working with client executives and senior management
  • Have ability to positively engage and develop relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Have ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty
