Viridor is at the forefront of waste management and resource recovery in the UK, operating the largest network of Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs). We play a crucial role in supporting the UK’s climate goals by diverting waste from landfills and transforming it into valuable energy resources.
We have an opportunity in our Glasgow Recycling & Renewable Energy Centre for a Fuel Reception Operator to join our team working 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a varied shift pattern to include nights.
The salary for this role will be £40,212.00 per year, inclusive of shift allowance and participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.

The Fuel Reception Operator is a vital part of the operations team, predominantly responsible for the fuel reception at the ERF and other plant areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Traffic management,
  • Operating heavy plant and overhead cranes,
  • Forklift trucks and any other machinery as required in accordance with ERF procedures.
  • Additional duties may comprise of weighbridge operation, plant checks, site cleaning duties and Tipping Hall management.
  • Handling the fuel reception process and bunker management out of hours and during off-peak times.
