Description:

We are seeking a diligent and meticulous Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team in the retail industry, located in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. In this role, you will be in charge of managing financial transactions, maintaining accounts, and crafting financial reports. This role is a contract role with the opportunity to go permanent. QuickBooks Certified applicants highly encouraged to apply!

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an efficient system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts and defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
  • Balance accounts by reconciling entries.
  • Maintain and balance the general ledger.
  • Uphold quality historical records by filing documents.
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
  • Craft Accounts Receivable invoices, review payments received, and record deposits.
  • Utilize accounting software to perform various accounting functions.
  • Handle tasks related to Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Perform bank reconciliations and billing functions using Microsoft Office Suites and QuickBooks.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Full Charge Bookkeeper role within the Retail industry
  • QuickBooks Certified highly preferred
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Strong understanding of Accounting Functions, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations
  • Proficient in Billing Functions
  • Expertise in QuickBooks is a must
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
