Description:

We are offering a unique opportunity to join our team in Davenport, Iowa as a Full Charge Bookkeeper. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. The industry is fast-paced and requires a high level of attention to detail and proficiency in areas such as Microsoft Excel, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, and Account Reconciliation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 2 years experience and/or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
The ability to perform Bank Reconciliations is required.
Experience with General Ledger management is necessary.
Must have skills in Account Reconciliation.
A solid understanding of financial reporting and bookkeeping is required.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
A well-rounded understanding of business operations and financial processes.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
Handle the full cycle of accounting duties, from entering financial transactions into internal databases to the final stages of the accounting period
Conduct bank reconciliations regularly to ensure accuracy
Conduct regular ledger maintenance
Review financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
Secure financial information by completing database backups
Craft and present financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information
Maintain a deep understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
Generate all vendor checks and obtain necessary signatures
Prepare 1099’s
Review tuition assistance applications
Assist with donor recognition processes
