Description:

A Bookkeeper will find an excellent opportunity in Robert Half’s new job opening. To be successful in this role and take advantage of the growth potential, you should multitask effectively, manage your time well, and have strong communication and organizational skills. In this role, you will carry out all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including but not limited to preparing financial statements, and establishing and preserving accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. This long-term contract / temporary Full Charge Bookkeeper position is located in Altanta, Georgia.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Maintaining knowledge of current federal, state, and local legal requirements, ensuring adherence to them, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions
  • Assembling the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and income and cash flow statements
  • Executing accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, such as collections
  • Tracking fixed assets and constructing depreciation schedules
  • Handling reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll
  • Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
  • Managing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
  • Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping
  • Strong organization skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks
  • Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work
  • Solid understanding of QuickBooks Enterprise
  • Prior payroll experience preferred
  • Show the ability to adapt and learn new techniques and skill sets when required
  • Earlier work involving Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree
  • Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting
  • High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended
