Description:
There is a part-time Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity with growth potential open for candidates who multi-task effectively and have strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills. The Full Charge Bookkeeper position Robert Half is currently filling and could be a good fit for you. This long-term contract Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity is based in Salisbury, Connecticut. In this position, you will be responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements, as well as establishing and maintaining the organization’s accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.
Your responsibilities
- Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
- Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections
- Tracking fixed assets and preparing depreciation schedules
- Maintaining historical records by filing documents
- Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
- Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll
- Supervising accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
- Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management
- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
- Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
- Proven knowledge of Grant Management
- Journal entries experience preferred
- Bank reconciliations experience highly desired
- Comprehensive knowledge of QuickBooks Online
- Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner
- 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must
- Prior payroll experience preferred
- Can work independently with minimal supervision
- A thorough knowledge of accrual and cash basis of accounting
- Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
- High school diploma or equivalent required, and AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
