If you want to contribute to saving people’s lives every day, you’re invited to join our Outdoor segment. Our teams are involved in scaling up the existing projects or building new features from scratch. We are looking for 2 talented software engineers to work in tandem with our experienced squad.
With the inReach device, the central piece of our Outdoor department, which connects to the Iridium satellite network, our customers can stay connected regardless of being in the middle of the ocean or over 5.000 meters climbing the Himalayas. The inReach SOS button saves 4 people each single day.
Garmin Outdoor also includes: wearables - Fenix series, wildlife monitoring devices, trapshooting devices (combining camera & radar), dog collars for dog training & monitoring.

REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge, education, experience and/or training in object oriented development and a familiarity with databases and source code control.
• Good knowledge of a wide range of technologies including but not limited to C#, ASP .NET MVC, .NET & .NET Core, Web API, Azure services, Micro-services/Distributed systems, MSSQL, Entity Framework/Core, Asynchronous programming, Design Patterns.
• Proficiency with JavaScript ES6, HTML5, CSS3.
• A bachelor of science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a technical field relevant to the essential functions of this job description and minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• English proficiency.

Would be a great plus if you have:

• Demonstrated skills in working with Javascript libraries or frameworks like React or Angular.
• Experience with working as part of an Agile (especially Scrum) or Kanban team.
• Knowledge and experience with IaC tools, like Terraform.
• Experience with configuration and maintenance of/for CI/CD pipelines.

As our customer base grows, we need to grow our team. We work in a highly collaborative environment and expect everyone to participate. That doesn’t mean you need tons of experience (we’ll certainly take it though!) but a desire to contribute.
