MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
MFA in Theatre with emphasis in Lighting Design is required.
Evidence of excellence in teaching at the university level or equivalent excellence in teaching-related experiences.
Strong background in lighting design rooted in professional performance practices.
Ability to provide industry standard accurate drawings and supporting paperwork, and model clear, collaborative communication for and with design and production students and production teams.
Ability to use and teach Vectorworks, Lightwright, and pre-visualization software; working knowledge of ETC light boards.
Ability to use and teach multimedia control software, such as Qlab, MadMapper, or similar.
Evidence of basic understanding of theatrical audio systems and their integration into multimedia projects.
Ability to teach digital media, projection design, and / or emerging visualization technologies.
Demonstrated supervisory and collaborative abilities; ability to adhere to production timelines.
Superlative organizational practices, time management skills, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to nurture a broad range of students of diverse identities and experiences as demonstrated through pedagogy, service, and activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated experience in setting up local networks to integrate lighting, projection, and audio system controls.
Evidence of significant professional experience as an assistant, associate, or lead lighting designer.
