JOB SUMMARY:

The primary role of this position is to provide Teller and/or Personal Banker staffing support within a defined group of First US Bank retail banking centers, which requires the ability to work at multiple locations in the designated region. This position is based in Calera, Alabama, and will travel as needed to Birmingham, Centreville, Harpersville, Tuscaloosa, and Woodstock. Mileage reimbursement is provided in addition to regular compensation.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous cash handling experience required; two years of Teller experience preferred.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; must be able to drive to defined retail banking center locations as needed to support staffing needs.
  • Demonstrates a professional demeanor, including resourcefulness and confidence.
  • Effectively communicates with customers, staff, and outside contacts.
  • Ability to access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Attendance is a vital function of this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Follows bank policies and procedures; complies with applicable laws and regulations, abides by all BSA requirements, and maintains security and confidentiality of customer records.
  • Provides excellent customer service, including prompt acknowledgment of client, friendly and courteous disposition, and professional image.
  • Informs customers about features and benefits of bank products and services, identifies customer needs, and refers customers to appropriate staff when necessary.
  • Opens new accounts, including personal and business checking accounts, savings accounts, certificates of deposit, and IRAs.
  • Completes customer transactions, including cashing checks, receiving deposits, distributing withdrawals, processing account transfers, and accepting loan payments.
  • Verifies customer signatures, account ownership, and identification; utilizes teller terminal to obtain account numbers and balances and to research transaction questions.
  • Performs ancillary duties involving wire transfers, debit cards, stop payments, hold notices, savings bonds, account maintenance, and other administrative functions.
  • Answers banking center phone calls to assist customers with questions or concerns.
  • Verifies cash received from vault and balances the teller drawer against the teller terminal daily.
  • Performs vault duties, including ordering and receiving coin and currency, preparing outgoing coin and currency, disbursing change orders to tellers, and daily balancing.
  • Balances and maintains branch ATMs.
  • Adheres to procedures for secure opening and closing of safety deposit boxes.
  • Ensures standardized scanning procedures are followed.
  • Monitors surveillance equipment and reports any problems to Head Teller or Banking Center Manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
