Description:

THE COMPANY

Our client is a global consulting firm working with a global Investment Management Group. We are seeking a Functional Operations Business Analyst to join our client on a large-scale project. This is a 12 months contract with possibility of extension.
The Functional Ops Business Analyst will report to the section head of the Operations team and will be responsible for managing the day to day activities of the trade & processing teams. You will also work with the Section Head on various operational responsibilities that may arise from time to time including ensuring the risk and controls assessment are carried out and updated for the Trade Processing-Cash Ops team.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and directing the team to ensure timely execution of essential daily tasks in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
  • Verifying and approving instructions processed by staff, including custodian instructions and Bloomberg AIM transactions
  • Monitoring and evaluating broker performance concerning back-office functions
  • Addressing escalated issues from various stakeholders, such as Banks, Finance, and Brokers
  • Reviewing security holdings reconciliation between Bloomberg AIM, Custodians, and IBOR
  • Providing guidance and support to staff in optimizing new workflows and processes
  • Facilitating asset transfer requests from Portfolio Managers/Clients
  • Representing the Settlement Team in BU migrations and new account onboarding projects, ensuring readiness for transitions
  • Reviewing current processes and controls, ensuring team members adhere to internal protocols
  • Supervising and directing the team to ensure timely execution of critical daily functions in compliance with procedures and guidelines
  • Reviewing and authorizing tasks performed by Cash Ops staff, including payment and remittance instructions, Spot FX, and FD instructions in custodian platforms.
  • Verifying instructions processed by staff in Bloomberg AIM for interface to downstream and service provider systems, if applicable
  • Reviewing cash reconciliation between Bloomberg AIM and custodian performed by Cash Ops staff, escalating issues as needed
  • Participating in group initiatives projects affecting cash operations, such as front office system changes and fund restructuring exercises
  • Addressing escalated issues from various stakeholders, including DMO/IBOR team, Custodians, Service Providers, Finance, and Brokers
  • Reviewing existing workflows and processes, collaborating with the IT team on streamlining and automation
