Description:

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE

  • Degree or diploma in business administration or other relevant discipline preferred
  • 2-3 years experience in fund development, non-profit, or social services setting
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to consider past volunteer, education, and other experiences towards their overall experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Understanding of fundraising and donor financial management principles and applications
  • General understanding of the social services sector – working with people who live with the intersecting challenges of poverty, the effects of trauma and abuse, systemic social barriers, mental illness and addiction.
  • Experience with a variety of online fundraising platforms
  • Knowledge and experience with Raiser’s Edge/NXT fundraising software an asset
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • A systems thinker with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work under shifting priorities and deadlines

  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check
  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination status will be required

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Fund Development & Communications team with collecting funding opportunity information from program staff
  • Participate in research and prospect management activity
  • This position offers the opportunity for candidates to gain experience in grant writing, specifically focusing on securing small grants valued at $5,000 or less
